MOJO in few days!


Welcome to another exciting devlog for "MOJO in few days!" In just four days, on Monday 19.6.2023, we'll be showcasing our game, "The Hunger Maze," at the 16th edition of MOJO - Montra de Jogos in Taguspark, Instituto Superior Técnico. We're thrilled to present our game to the audience at the event and have been hard at work perfecting it for the showcase.

During the Games Showcase, we'll be offering attendees a chance to experience "The Hunger Maze" firsthand. Our dedicated demo area will provide players with a taste of the challenging puzzles and strategic decision-making that awaits them in the full game. We can't wait to see the reactions and gather valuable feedback from the players, as this will be crucial for our final round of testing.

Speaking of testing, we've conducted numerous rounds to fine-tune the gameplay mechanics and ensure a balanced and enjoyable experience. The feedback we received from our classmates during the prototype testing has been incredibly valuable in refining the game's difficulty curve and overall gameplay flow. In our next devlog, we'll be excited to share the insights we gathered from the showcase and how they influenced our final adjustments.

Additionally, we're excited to announce a new addition to our game— a logo created by Czech graphic creator Tomáš Pekárek. The logo adds a unique touch to our brand identity, capturing the essence of "The Hunger Maze."


Last week we finished the design and technical document. We made these tasks:

Ondrej: Hi, last week I worked on the development plan in the Tech document and on updating the design document. We also started to write the playtesting plan.

João:  Hi! I fixed the technical documents issues and added the main technological developments and achievements of features. I started to create the animation of a character when they reach the limit of hunger. I  collaborated to finish the playtesting plan.

Tereza: Hello, last week I updated the design document, which included the introduction of the document as well as the game itself. Additionally, I added the game's control scheme. I also collaborated with a Czech graphic designer to create the game's logo, and as a result, I completed the poster for the MOJO game showcase. Additionally, I was brainstorming with Ondrej, which in-game metrics should we measure.



Until MOJO we will focus on:

Ondrej will work on the game code and will re-design his level. Moreover, he will prepare in-game monitoring of desired variables.

João will design intro level and add initial frames. He will also write the questions for the MOJO.

Tereza will work on finishing the prototype for MOJO, with focus on graphics and create the control sheet.
